Welcome to the North West Events and Information Newsletter for July 2007
Hello and welcome to the July newsletter.
Despite the persistent rain the North West is still a hotbed of activity this month. Lancaster University Management School will be running a two day intensive marketing course for SMEs on 10th & 11th July. Liverpool Business Associations is inviting local firms and budding entrepreneurs to the Wirral & Chester Business Fair on 10th July. ACAS is running a number of training courses throughout the rest of the year. the magazine has begun work on this year's 'Guide to Pride' and there are a number of advertising and sponsorship opportunities available.
The 24:7 Theatre Festival returns later this month showcasing the best in original theatre writing with a week of new plays performed in non theatre venues.
And looking forward to September, Shayne Ward will be honoured by The Variety Club of Great Britain in a sparkling tribute dinner at the Palace Hotel, Manchester.
North West Events and Information will be takin a short break over August and will be back again on 3rd September, bringing you the latest news and events from around the region. We are running a special discount for that month only. Business articles will be just £40 plus VAT and registered charity articles will be £20 plus VAT.

Please note that the order of placement of articles in our newsletter is decided by the order in which completed order forms are received. Therefore, the earlier you order your article placement, the higher up the newsletter your article will be listed.

Crisp and Clear Marketing Workshops for SMEs
It is estimated that the lack of marketing or poor marketing accounts for the failure of 38.1% of SMEs in the UK
Once again the Institute for Entrepreneurship and Enterprise Development are delivering their successful and innovative marketing programme for SMEs in the North West to improve marketing performance and growth. To date 60 North West SMEs have been assisted on the programme and now it’s your turn to freshen up . . .
This is a two day intensive course that will run 10th & 11th July. Each day will consist of three units, each of which are outlined below.
DAY ONE
Introduction to Fresh*
This thought provoking session provides an overview of what marketing is & introduces you to the programme.
Market Research
This session explains how, where, when and why to carry out Market Research activities and what your business can achieve through it.
Branding
This workshop explains
how to develop a strong, consistent image.
DAY TWO
Selling
In this workshop we’ll help you discover how to successfully sell to new and existing customers.
PR & Media
This workshop will teach you how to communicate effectively with your
customers through Public Relations.
Marketing Strategy
This strategic session pulls together the fresh* course & put this in the bigger business picture.
The programme is valued at approximately £1,000 per participant and is funded through the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF). There will be no cost to eligible companies.

Starting at 10am from Hamilton Square Station, the bus will pick up from Egerton House, Price Street Business Centre and Seacombe Ferry Terminal before dropping off at Wallasey Town Hall and returning to Hamilton Square using the same route. Final journey leaves Wallasey Town Hall at 2.00pm.

Guide to Pride 2007
Following the success of The Guide to Pride '05, the magazine has begun production of the 2007 edition.
the magazine is happy to be working in close collaboration with the organisers of Manchester Pride to produce the magazine's guide to the ten day festival.
10,000 copies of the magazine's 'Guide to Pride' will be circulated throughout the Gay Village during Manchester Pride and will also be distributed on the floats taking part in the big parade. This comprehensive guide to the hottest places in town during the festival also comprises of a whole host of hot celebrity interviews.

Shayne Ward Honoured by
The Variety Club Of Great Britain

Variety Club of Great Britain is proud to announce it will be honouring Shayne Ward with a special Tribute Dinner to celebrate his outstanding achievements in the world of entertainment and music.
Shayne Ward has achieved huge international success through his natural talent and enthusiasm at such a young age. On 2006 Shayne’s first single sold over 1.3 million in the UK alone debuting straight at Number 1 in the UK singles chart and he became one of the biggest selling UK artists of 2006 with his debut album. Shayne has since gone on to storm charts worldwide with number one albums and singles in 10 countries during 2006.
During the evening The Variety Club will present Shayne with a special achievement award and Shayne will be making an exclusive performance for his guests.
This will be an evening to remember and a unique opportunity for fans and guests to celebrate with Shayne and enjoy a rare exclusive performance.

24:7 Theatre Festival 2007
Welcome to this fourth incarnation of 24:7!
Like a certain TV doctor, the internal energy and life force remain the same, whilst the manifestation may be somewhat different...This year we are proud to present a selection of the best newly-written 60-minute plays, drama, storytelling and a dozen shades of comedy from the North West region and a stones throw beyond.
As a festival audience member, you will share the excitement of premère after première in a way you never thought possible. To complement your busy schedule, dip in and out of any of 105 performances, which will take place in four non-theatre venues over seven days, including lunchtimes.
