Go Yellow
St Ann's Hospice

How will you Go Yellow this June?

It's time for the St Ann's Hospice annual awareness and fundraising campaign - so why not get involved? Each year Go Yellow raises around £30,000 which makes a real difference - have a look at our website and see what you could do www.goyellow.org.uk.

Last year our supporters were very inventive in their Go Yellow fundraising. It's great fun, great for staff morale and could help raise the profile of your company through media coverage.  Some ideas:

Go Yellow
  • Yellow Dress Down Day - pay £1 to wear yellow for the day or pay £2 not to!
  • Persuade someone to sit in a bath of custard for the day and get sponsored for it!
  • Hold a custard eating competition
  • Bring in and sell yellow foods - egg muffins, banana smoothies, yellow cakes - all proceeds to your Go Yellow fundraising
  • Hold a Quiz and include a yellow round - we can provide the questions
  • Sell some of our yellow merchandise - it's on sale or return
  • Give up some of your lunch hour on Friday, 6th June to take part in our Sunflower Collection on St Ann's Square in Manchester

Don't forget to let us know what you are doing - we'd love to hear from you. Call 0161 498 3631 for more information.

Best of Manchester Awards 08
Art, music, fashion

Best of Manchester Awards 08 The Best of Manchester is back. The annual competition that celebrates innovation in art, music and fashion is now open for entries.

Organised by Urbis, led by Peter Saville and judged by a panel of industry experts, the Best of Manchester spotlights the work of Manchester's creative professionals. There is no age limit, no hype and no rules: just the best creative thinking by the best creatives working in Manchester today.

Anyone working in music, art and fashion - and who lives or works in Manchester - can enter. The prize? The chance to have work judged by a panel of industry experts, long-term professional development, a one-off cash prize and an exclusive exhibition at Urbis.

Last year's Best of Manchester celebrated the kind of cutting-edge creativity for which Manchester has long been renowned, from a musical based on the life of Jackson Pollock to Art Deco-inspired commercial design. The three categories - music, art and fashion - are deliberately broad, with judges looking for entries that blur boundaries, mix disciplines and demonstrate real creative innovation.

How to enter

Find out more and enter online at www.urbis.org.uk/thebestofmanchester and http://bestofmanchester.wordpress.com

Deadline for entries: 30 June
Exhibition at Urbis: 8 August - 28 September
