Have you made a Will?
Opportunity to Make a Will during Will Week 2nd – 6th March 2009
St Ann’s Hospice annual Will Week, kindly sponsored again by The Co-operative Group, is taking place from 2nd to 6th March 2009.
Do you need a standard Will writing, amending, or would just like to add a codicil (addition) to your Will?
Last year, over 50 solicitors took part in Will Week and 407 Wills were written. This raised an incredible £32,000 for the Hospice. The average donation per Will written was around £75. Since 2003 this campaign has raised over £120,000 for St Ann’s Hospice which is down to the astonishing support of the participating solicitors, who kindly donated their time completely free. Also thanks must go to people who were inspired to make an appointment, have their Will written and, of course, make a donation.
One of the most important legal activities each of us face is deciding how our assets will be distributed. It really is vital that you have a Will to ensure that your preferences are carried out. Writing a Will is something that so many people put off time and time again. The consequences of dying without a valid Will should make everyone ensure that this is something they sort out. Unless you make a will, you cannot guarantee that your estate will be distributed as you want. So, why not take advantage of this offer by contacting one of the participating solicitors.
Our Will Week solicitors would be happy to hear from you. To make your appointment, please contact one of the solicitors listed on the participating list which can be found at www.sah.org.uk/willweek
To make your appointment for during Will Week, all you need to do is contact one of the solicitors directly on the list, and go along to their office to write your standard Will. During your appointment, the solicitor will give you a St Ann’s Hospice Will Week donation envelope and instead of paying the solicitor’s fee you make a donation to the Hospice.
If you would like further information please call Mandy Pope our Fundraising Officer, on 0161 498 3664 or email mpope@sah.org.uk.
This really is a good opportunity to organise your affairs and to ensure that your estate will be distributed as you want. This campaign is also an excellent way to support St Ann’s Hospice.
